Celtic risk losing Damir Redzic amid focus on top target
Celtic face a key decision on a wide signing in the final days of the January window.

Celtic are weighing up a late-window move for a wide player, with Hungarian winger Damir Redzic viewed as a serious alternative target, but a French winger in Italy still considered the priority.
Journalist Scott Burns reports that Celtic have already made contact over Redzic, who plays for Slovak side Dunajska Streda, and see him as a viable option if their main pursuit breaks down.
However, the club remain focused on securing a deal for a winger currently at Frosinone, despite the higher fee involved.

Burns, speaking in a Record Sport Q&A (h/t CeltsAreHere), explained that Redzic is very much on the radar but not at the front of the queue. Celtic see him as a more affordable option who fits the profile of a direct wide player able to carry the ball, attack space, and offer pace on the flanks.
Redzic’s situation is complicated by strong interest from Red Bull Salzburg, who are believed to have a verbal agreement with the player and are now negotiating a fee. The Austrian club are known for moving quickly once they identify a target, raising the risk that Celtic could miss out if they do not act soon.
The preferred choice remains the Frosinone winger, who is further along in his development and has been producing consistently in Serie B. His off-the-ball movement, ability to run beyond full-backs, and comfort in tight spaces are seen as a better fit for how Celtic want to dominate games domestically.
