Rangers fans won’t appreciate Celtic star’s blunt admission
A Celtic forward who settled a tense Scottish Cup tie at Ibrox has spoken candidly about the decisive moments of the afternoon.

Tomas Cvancara described Celtic’s Scottish Cup shootout victory at Ibrox as “quite easy” after scoring the decisive penalty against Rangers.
The Czech forward took the final kick of the shootout after Rangers had already missed one of their efforts. Cvancara stayed calm and rolled his penalty into the bottom corner, sending Celtic into the semi-finals and sparking loud celebrations among the 8,000 travelling supporters in the Broomloan Stand.
The match itself had been tense and one-sided in terms of pressure. Rangers pushed hard for a goal throughout, forcing Celtic to defend deep for long periods. Auston Trusty threw himself into blocks inside the area, while Viljami Sinisalo made important saves as crosses and loose balls dropped in the six-yard box.
When the tie went to penalties, Celtic’s players showed composure from the spot. Each kick was struck cleanly, with Cvancara’s effort confirming the win and ending Rangers’ hopes.
Speaking afterwards, Cvancara appeared for his television interview still wearing a blood-stained shirt following the chaotic scenes that followed the shootout. He chose not to focus on the disorder and instead spoke about the mental side of the shootout and the backing from the away fans.
He said it had been a tough game, but stressed that the team needed to stay calm. Cvancara added that he trusted the quality of his teammates from the spot and felt the penalties were “quite easy,” via CeltsAreHere.
The forward also highlighted the noise from the Celtic end, saying that with almost 8,000 supporters behind the goal it “almost felt like home”. For Cvancara, one composed strike from 12 yards was enough to settle a long afternoon and underline Celtic’s progress in the competition.
