Celtic send young midfielder to Vålerenga on loan as development continues

Celtic continues to make key decisions ahead of next season, and one of them involves Odin Holm, who has yet to secure a regular starting position with The Hoops.
The Norwegian midfielder will travel to Oslo to finalize his loan move to Vålerenga, a move aimed at furthering his development away from Glasgow.
A new loan for Odin Holm has been confirmed, despite not yet playing for Celtic.
The deal will be a loan without an option to buy, making it clear that Celtic has long-term plans for the player.
With his contract running until the summer of 2028, the club’s plan is for Holm to gain playing time, consistency, and experience in an environment where he can play a more prominent role.
At 23 years old, the Norwegian has not yet established himself in the first team. In his last two seasons (2023-24 and 2024-25), he has played 16 matches, scoring one goal and providing one assist, figures that reflect his limited involvement with the squad. This lack of consistent playing time has been key in the decision to seek another loan move for him.
Celtic considers Holm a promising prospect for the future, but he needs match fitness to reach his full potential.
The idea is for him to return better prepared in the coming years and be able to compete for a place in the team, in a project that aims to rebuild after an inconsistent season.
