Nygren hails Celtic’s ability to fight back in Cup semifinal

In a fantastic match that secured their place in the Scottish Cup final, Celtic stood out not only for the result but also for the performance of one of their breakout stars of the season: Benjamin Nygren. The midfielder was once again decisive, even contributing a goal in the resounding 6-2 victory against St Mirren.

Nygren has undoubtedly been one of the key figures for Martin O’Neill’s team throughout the season. His impact has been reflected not only in the statistics but also in his influence on the game, proving to be a crucial player in important moments, as he demonstrated again in this semifinal.

The season’s breakout star knows he will bring joy to the Celtic

After the match, the player himself highlighted the difficulty of the game, acknowledging the constant pressure exerted by the opposition at various points.

Even so, he praised the team’s ability to overcome adversity and secure a result that seemed to be slipping away after the draw in regulation time. Performances like this solidify Nygren’s position as a key player for Celtic and reinforce his role heading into the final.

“I thought we’d win it in regulation time, but then they scored before the end. Then I don’t know what happened! We scored four goals really quickly and that ended the game in extra time. It was an incredible atmosphere when we scored the goals, but I’m so happy we did it. I’m really enjoying it here. I’m just trying to stay in the moment and enjoy it as much as possible. In the end, I came here to win trophies, so that’s the goal.”
