Celtic modern day hero to be a pundit at the World Cup

This will be a very popular move

You will do well to find a Celtic fan who isn’t an absolutely huge Ange Postecoglou fan.

During his two years at Celtic, he won five trophies and played an incredibly attractive brand of football that excited the supporters. It was also no gimme to sweep up the silverware, considering the Hoops had finished 25 points behind Rangers when he took over.

Most fans did not begrudge his departure, as opportunities to manage in the Premier League do not come up very often. It was a reward for his hard work, coming all the way from an immigrant in Melbourne to the top level of domestic football.

He also just understood what it meant to be a Celtic manager. After a win over Rangers in 2022, he mentioned that there would have been many fans in the crowd with problems in their personal lives, yet they were able to forget about them for 90 minutes. A proper football man, a proper Celtic man.

Owing to how much of a football man Ange is, he is set to be a pundit as part of ITV’s World Cup coverage this summer. Since leaving Nottingham Forest earlier this season, he has worked in punditry, appearing on Gary Neville’s Stick to Football podcast and on TNT Sport’s FA Cup coverage.

In fact, Ange worked as a pundit for ITV during Euro 2024, despite being Spurs manager at the time. As a very popular former Celtic manager, it will be interesting to see whether or not he works on one of the Scotland games.

There is also his native Australia, where he could work on his games. There won’t be an opportunity to cover his motherland of Greece, as Scotland knocked them out of qualifying. Whichever games he is working on, you can be sure Celtic fans are eager to hear what he has to say.
