Celtic 2-0 win over Falkirk tightens title race

Celtic secure a confident 2-0 victory over Falkirk with goals from Cvancara and Nygren.

Celtic wanted to become strong at home and show their best performance, which they achieved with a 2-0 victory.

The match started with strong moments for Celtic, although they did not score until the 39th minute through Tomas Cvancara. After that, they went into halftime with Falkirk thinking about a comeback, but Celtic showed their best physical and mental form. The second goal arrived in the 62nd minute from Benjamin Nygren, sealing the match with the final score of 2-0.

With a strong performance, Celtic do not want to lose sight of a possible climb to the top of the Scottish league. Currently in 2nd place with 48 points, they remain behind Hearts, who have 54 points, but the team led by Martin O’Neill does not lose consistency in the pursuit of first place.

What awaits Celtic in the upcoming matches?

With a tight schedule, Celtic know they must stay focused not only on the domestic league but also on the UEFA Europa League, as February is a month of high intensity.

Celtic already earned a victory on 1 February, but the schedule for their next five matches requires full concentration to seek the best results:

  • Aberdeen vs Celtic: Scottish Premiership (04/02/2026)
  • Celtic vs Dundee: Scottish Cup (07/02/2026)
  • Celtic vs Livingston: Scottish Premiership (11/02/2026)
  • Kilmarnock vs Celtic: Scottish Premiership (15/02/2026)
  • Celtic vs Stuttgart: UEFA Europa League (19/02/2026)

The matches that follow this 2-0 victory against Falkirk will not be easy, so the team must continue working positively and maintain focus and consistency if they want to reach the top of the Scottish Premiership and remain alive in the Scottish Cup and Europa League throughout February.
