Celtic face €4 million transfer problem amid club chief’s comments
Celtic face a potential transfer headache this summer over a €4 million purchase clause.

Celtic may struggle to cash in on Luis Palma this summer after the Lech Poznan chief admitted the agreed €4 million option to buy could be too high for the Polish club to afford.
The Honduran winger is currently on loan with Lech and has been in strong form, with six goals and seven assists in 25 appearances.
Reports in Poland claim the Ekstraklasa side have a €4m purchase clause in the deal, but their chief executive has suggested that fee is a major stretch for their budget.
Speaking on Tomasz Cwiakala’s podcast, Lech Poznan CEO Karol Klimczak, quoted by the Daily Record via Gol24, was clear about the dilemma:
“I wish we could negotiate the terms of the buyout. The paradox is that if Luis were to stop scoring now, maybe they’d somehow manage to convince Celtic that the transfer fee is excessive.
If he plays well, shoots, and assists, then the decisions will be easier.”

To trigger the option, Lech would reportedly need to smash their transfer record by a wide margin. That makes a permanent move uncertain, even though Palma has quickly become an important player for them.
The situation leaves Celtic with an interesting decision to make at the end of the season. If Lech cannot afford the clause, other European clubs could step in, as a €4m fee for a productive wide player in his mid-20s is far more manageable in bigger leagues.
Palma’s future at Parkhead is also not straightforward. He made a bright start in Glasgow, including a goal against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League, but his form dipped and he soon found himself out of favour.
Many fans felt he was not given a proper chance to win his place back under Brendan Rodgers before being sent out on loan.
