Celtic’s goalkeeping rumours: Is it time for a fresh start?
Celtic continues to analyze its season and the final stretch of it to make decisions regarding its starting lineup.

At a crucial moment for Celtic in the final stretch of the season, all signs point to Kasper Schmeichel’s time as the Glasgow club’s first-choice goalkeeper slowly coming to an end.
According to The Celtic Bhoys, the club is preparing to give a more prominent role to young goalkeeper Viljami Sinisalo, who is emerging as the new starter under Martin O’Neill.
Sinisalo himself recently spoke on Celtic TV about this potential change in role, making it clear that he is approaching the moment with enthusiasm and a sense of responsibility.
The goalkeeper emphasized that he feels ready to take on the challenge and that his goal is to deliver solid performances so as not to betray the trust of the club and his teammates at such a decisive point in the campaign.
“I love every moment of it. It’s something I’ve always wanted to do and play, like every footballer does. I spoke with the manager about what he wants from me and what he wants from his goalkeeper in general. Obviously, I’m trying to be that by showing my own personality on the pitch and doing the best I can. I think that, as a group, the four games we’ve just had simply showcase the character within the dressing room.”

His potential starting role comes just as Celtic tries to stay in the fight for the Scottish Premiership, an objective that still looks difficult given Hearts’ lead at the top of the table.
Even so, the team remains hopeful of finishing the season as strongly as possible, and Sinisalo’s presence could bring freshness and security to the goal during these final matches.
