Two Celtic players feature in behind closed doors game
Martin O'Neill has been handed a huge boost by return of two players

We are now firmly at the business end of the season. Celtic are in the Scottish Cup final, and we now have the split ahead of us, with a three team title race for the first time in a very long time.
In a timely fashion, it looks as if the team could have a big boost for those important games. Indeed, as Celts media are reporting that Alistair Johnston and Callum Osmand both played in a behind closed doors game today, against an unconfirmed opponent.
They also mention that both players could feature amongst the substitutes for this weekend’s visit of Falkirk.
This is huge news. To have Johnston back could seriously be the difference, it does not feel hyperbolic to say as much. Particularly with Julian Araujo now out for the rest of the season, having Johnston back is massive.
Although he did score against St Mirren, Anthony Ralston is just such a step down, with all due respect. Here and there maybe, but for important, intense end of season games, particularly against Hearts and Rangers, O’Neill and Celtic will need the Canadian international fit, and at his best.
As for Osmand, clearly not as important as Johnston, but at this point of the season, the more bodies fit the better. The youngster did score against Rangers in the League Cup back in November too.
